The monday morning after my handbag was stolen, I recieved a nice email from a girl who found my purse in soho square... about 2 blocks from where it was stolen. Monday morning we changed the locks on our doors, even though my keys were recovered. All of my things were there except my wallet, £600 mobile phone, and oyster travel card. Something really creepy happened yesterday.
1 week after the incident I get home to find a letter in the post. It's from "john boogie" with an address in Hungary, but I can tell it's been posted in England. Inside are all of the personal affects from my wallet that I am sooo glad to have back.
1. my NHS medial registration (has my home address on it)
2. CA Drivers license
3. pictures of my nephew
4. Ann Taylor credit card
5. AAA Card
There was no note at all. This stuff couldn't have been loose on the ground or in a bin and someone found it to mail it back. I honestly think that the person who stole my bag mailed this stuff back to me for some reason. What is more odd is that this isn't the first time this has happened to me. In high school my bag was stolen from an unlocked car and 4 months later someone mailed back the personal items from my wallet in an envelope.
Is this the standard polite ritual of a petty theif?
