I went back to Aptos for a few days for Christmas, it was really nice to spend time with my Mom, Grandma O, Jazzy and friends. The day I flew in my mom picked me up and we immediately did a little holiday shopping! All things being prioritized I then met some friends for Sushi at Mobo's in Santa Cruz. We gorged and made a mess with the saki bombs. Mobo's has the BEST sushi in Santa Cruz and it's not on a main drag, so look it up and enjoy. Christmas Eve was a nice day of brunching on the ocean, a fab dinner at the Nagels - followed by 3-4 hours of Texas Hold Em' where the two beginners walked away with the pot, go figure. Scam artists!!
2 days after Christmas I flew to Ontario where Andy picked me up and we were headed to Palm Desert to spend a week with his Mom and family. We went on walks every day, lounged by the pool, sat in the spa, hit golf balls, played scrabble, went shopping, watched movies and had such a great downtime. We missed all of the nasty rain happening on the coast. It was such a great visit with Andy's family, really nice and mellow. His Uncle Marty cooked us a fab dinner one evening and we ended it with a scrabble challenge. We did some shopping on El Paseo on NYE day and stopped at ..... for killer Margarita's. With 2 marg's we were 3 sheets, and getting sentimental and having a great time. I dont' think we made it to midnight :-)
Overall it was really nice to spend time with everyone. Living so far away from family it means a lot to us to spend time with everyone, it's fun and such a trip to catch up on how life changes for us all, I cherish it!
