Dentistry in England

I ended up going to a local place which looks very professional from the outside. Andy went there and came back alive, so I decided to try it out. The dentist asked about my teeth and I told him what work I have had done. He opened my mouth, looked around for about 3 minutes and then took X-rays of all my teeth. He did not touch a single tooth, he did not poke a single filling. He just asked me if I had any pain. After looking at my x-rays he said he found nothing and everything looked ok. This was a little odd because my dentist in the states said I should probably have a certain filling replaced the next visit, but this guy didn't mention a word.

The hygeniest was "filling in" as a temp for someone. I could have done a better job cleaning my teeth if she would have given me the tools. She blasted that air/water pick thing around some of my teeth. Gave a bottom tooth 1 or 2 scrapes and said I was all set.

There is zero concept of preventative care here in the UK for teeth. It's like... if it's not black, rotting and agonizing with pain then you are fine. I am still open for recommendations. I've asked the people at work, but most of them don't go to the dentist every year, they go like as needed. That explains it all.
