St Anton

We went with a crew of London friends to St. Anton Austria for a week in the snow. There were 16 of us in a catered chalet which is the only way to go! Several friends came from the US for the trip, it was such a great time and so nice to see them too. We arrived Sunday flying into Innsbruck and Steff was our guide that picked us up at the airport. The chalet is about an 1 hour long bus ride from the airport. Another girl and I took 3 days of Beginner ski lessons, which was really worth it. It was great to learn what I was doing, be able to stand up, slow down, turn and actually ski. I want to go again soon and take some more lessons, I really loved it.

Nobody warned us about the seriousness of the Apres Ski in Austria. It's insanity but so fun. We spent the first afternoon at the Krazy Kanguruh, which is on the side of the mountain so us beginners took a taxi there. I don't know how all these people get sloshed and then ski down and make it w/o killing themselves. Our friend Bryan broke his wrist the first day, sober!
