Ahhhh a FOUR day weekend, how nice! We avoided the madness of everyone escaping London and decided to stay home. We are off to Copenhagen next weekend so we'll get our break from London then. It's strange to have Easter this early the weekend of March 22. I'm so used to Easter being in April, it feels weird. It's also freezing, we had a cold snap this month and it's the coldest we have had all winter. I think this is the earliest Easter since 1919 or something wild like that.
Staying home worked out really well because we had concert tickets to see David Gray on Thursday... It was a decent venue at the Hammersmith Apollo but David didn't engage the audience much, he did little communication or speaking which I thought was strange at a small venue. We left early to avoid the crowds and unfortuantely for Andy we had nosebleeds seats (the tickets were a gift and I thought we had stall seats!... oops)
Friday was nice and leisurely. Andy cooked a big breakfast of eggs/potatoes, we went to the gym and then chilled out. That night we went to Kew for Simon and Fiona's engagement party which was soooo lovely. They had a tent over the garden with candles everywhere. It was very enchanting and good to meet their family and other friends we haven't met before. The party was catered and the drinks were flowing. We stayed late dancing in the garden and singing to whatever was playing on the ipods. We all jumped in taxis at 2am and went in search of nightclubs but everything was closed. We came home and had an even later night! What a fun party though, they really did a nice one! Andy and I are so happy for them.
Saturday was wasted due to our very late friday evening. We watched movies, went to dinner at a new chinese restraurant near Queensway and chilled out! It was a lazy day and I loved it.
Sunday Carly and her friend Nicole picked me up and we went to The Westbourne for Sunday roast. We had a nice non-boozy sunday dinner (lunch) and enjoyed a good catching up. Then I went to the gym while Andy snoozed on the couch. In the evening we went to our friend Olga's flat in West Hampstead. She bought it a while ago and gutted and redid the entire flat, it's great! We loved the open walk in shower and heated bathroom floor. We are looking forward to Olga's "glam" birthday party next weekend, I need to go shopping for a great dress!
