Wow... it's been a great year. Unfortunately I haven't written much at all in 2007. I've missed it. It seems impossible to sum it up in a single post.. here I go....
MERIBEL SKI TRIP: It started off in January with 20 people in a chalet in Meribel, Le Trois Vallees in France. I took ski lessons again but didn't have my buddy Christine to hang with this year. This group was not as fun as the St. Anton class but we had a good time. One day the ladies (Kymisha, Meg, Melissa) spent a few hours on the green slopes with me, checking out my new moves. Andy even came to board with me and check on my progress. I loved it but i'm never going to reach black slope status. Meribel is beautiful, we had great hosts, fun nights out and the 1 piece 80's snow suits were a hit on the slopes. I had two, a full zebra 1 piece and a full neon O'neil one straight from the 1982, they were great!
HEN PARTIES: In April I went to Vegas for my hen party. We stayed at Mandalay Bay and had a great time. The girls were so great having fun while I was sick. I got laryngitis and couldn't speak to anyone, I felt horrible for that and for being so sick. Still I had a great time and was so excited to see everyone! Stacy was a true friend waking up at 8am to go to the emergency room with me. Meg aslo through me a party in London as well and we spent the night at Roller disco. FUN!
WEDDING: The highlight of the year was obviously our wedding. It was the most memorable day of my life, that is for sure. It was filled with so much love, so many family and friends. It was seriously a fairytale wedding of our dreams. Words can't explain! I keep looking at the photos. Andy and I had a magical time.
HONEYMOON: Immediately after the wedding we spent a week in the Maldives at the Hilton, Rangali Island. It was relaxing, romantic, amazing. We snorkeled 2-3 times per day and I went on 2 dives outside the atoll (Andy lost his diving records)... Our dinner at the underwater restaurant was pricey but worth the aquarium effect. I would love to go back there one day.
ITALY: I finally made it to Italy! Andy had been there before in his backpacking days. We went to Tuscany for Shembi and Vince's wedding in July. They got married at a gorgeous villa with amazing views. We followed this up with 2 nights in Forte di Marmi, north of Pisa. We stayed with Melissa and Alex and went out to the beach club Twigga (Giraffe). The first day we arrived to we took in the sights in Pisa including the leaning tower. The second Italy trip was to Venice in November. We went there to celebrate our birthdays and 6 months of marraige. We walked for hours over this city and ate a lot of great food. The campos, canals, coffee, wine, islands are all amazing. I loved this city!
OKTOBERFEST: After years of talking about it we finally pulled together a weekend in Munich for Oktoberfest. I went with the ladies and Andy went with the guys separately. Two days is enough. It was myself, Jackie, Fiona and Melissa. The first night we went to the Police concert at the Olympic park and then went nightclubbing at Kultfabrik. The second day we had a reservation in the Wine tent, where we sang, danced and drank all day from our balcony table. It was one of the funnest weekends I've experienced. I will definitley go again if I have the chance.
WORK: Works been a good year, some growth opportunities and finished some big projects. In November I went to Burbank for 1 week. It was great to connect with my counterparts there. Stacy came down and stayed a few days with me in Pasadena. We had dinner with Ann and chilled out. I also spent a couple weekends in Aptos visiting everyone. It was a nice time to be in CA. I miss everyone! Work took me to Oslo for the first time, it was a day trip and I had never been to Norway before. Very pretty!
HOLIDAYS in LONDON:
We decided to stay in London this year as we've been back in CA the previous 2 Christmases. It was nice, quiet and fun. We bought an xbox 360 and became addicted to guitar hero. We had Vaniman and Olga over who were also here in London without family. Andy cooked a huge turkey, I had a few pieces. The gravy was famously salty from the brine. We stayed up late and had fun. We spent New Years eve at a black tie dinner at our friends Patrick and Elizabeths house, they live in Holland Park which is about 10 minutes walk from our house. It was nice to be able to walk home.
NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS:
Get healthy. Drink Less. No Smoking. Cardo 3 x week, weights 2 x week. Eat better food. Visit Egypt (cruise the Nile, see tombs and pyramids), Dive in the Red Sea, get a promotion at work, Africa (Safari or Morocco), celebrate first wedding anniversary on a beach (maldives again?), get organized again, stay in better touch with friends/family, take my vitamins every day, actually understand what is happening with my retirement investments, start writing a book, start a family.
